WOW, can't believe 2 weeks have passed already - this year feels like it is going to fly by. As soon as I saw the star, I knew I was going to be creating a boys birthday card. Stars just go with boys, like flowers go with girls :) Having 2 boys, I quite often use stars as embellishments on cards and scrapbook layouts of them.
A very simple card from me this week, as I have been sick and not really up to stamping. I began by selecting some patterned paper and then chose my coordinating background colour. You definitely can't go wrong with blue for boys :)
I decided to cut my star using the big shot star framelit dies, but then decided it looked a bit plain - so cut out a film strip using the big shot on film framelit dies.
Personally I think that anything layered always adds punch to a card.
I added a few smaller stars to the bottom and then used a button and linen thread to add a bit of character to the card.
A simple Happy Birthday greeting raised up gives the card a bit of dimension, along with the raised small stars.
