Inkspired sketch Blog Hop 9 - Ships Ahoy!

                      Happy New Year to everyone.
Welcome to this weeks blog post.  If you are following the blog hop you would have arrived here from the very talented Barbara Williams, her work is amazing :)

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, I certainly did.  It seems as though I blinked and Christmas was over, it just goes quicker and quicker as you get older I think. I hope Santa was good to you all.

This week I have created a male orientated card.  I don't make a lot of these types of cards, but with so many male birthdays upon me I thought I would create for a purpose :)

I loved this weeks sketch, it is just so adaptable.  As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with.  The banner strip across the bottom didn't suit my card so I extended it all the way across.

I have had this stamp set for a while but never used it. I love the size of the images in the set, just perfect for dissecting into squares.

The embossing folder I chose was to create an ocean feel, I think I accomplished that.

I have kept the colours very neutral and sponged around the edges, to achieve a more grunge look and keep with the male orientated feel.

And what's a card without an inside. I decided to keep the inside very simple.

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks card, please be sure to join in or continue along the blog hop - you are certain to be inspired by all the wonderful creativity.  Next in the hop is Kabrina Piirlaid, her work will amaze you.

Thanks for stopping by, please be sure to leave a comment - we all love comments xxx
